Warm Plates 🍳 Good People 👋 Wide-Open Spaces 🌿

Volume 3, Issue 12 • April 2, 2025

Hello, fellow wanderer!

This week was full of connection, catching up, and soaking in the quiet beauty of nature. We went to our first KYD (Keep Your Daydream) Insiders Meetup in Sarasota, FL, and it was everything I thought it might be. We moved from the RV park to a quiet, off-grid campground part of the outstanding SW Florida Water Management District. After registering on their website you make a reservation and get a gate code to stay out in nature.

I didn't. do a lot of photography this week as I've been focused on learning to work remotely while sharing an office space with my hubby.

Oh, and we are recovering from a minor motorcycle crash 10 days ago. Road rash is no joke, my friend! Luckily, nature has been the best medicine, and we have enjoyed the quiet time. Listening to the birds chirp is fantastic!

I picked this week's POTW from my birding adventures, which have been amazing!

Keep Your Daydream Insiders Meet Up

Here's a little back story if you aren't familiar with Keep Your Daydream and its YouTube channel. When we decided to start full-time travel, we researched and found the KYD channel. At the time, they were a full-time travel family of 5, and although we were a couple without kids, we found a lot of great information that helped us to "start small, start now." We have continued to follow them regularly over the years and love the positive energy and enthusiasm they bring to each adventure they encounter.

This was the first time we were close enough to attend, and I am so glad it worked out! We had a wonderful time meeting other Rvers and sharing stories of favorite places and craziest adventures. We got to meet our inspirations and get hugs and photos! The RV community is truly a fantastic place full of helpful people and friends you haven't met yet.

Behind the Shot: Photo of the Week

Getting your subject in the act of doing something adds an element of interest to the image, and that has inspired me to work harder at finding both interesting subjects and activities. Feeding and flying seem to be my most common finds so far! This image was shot with my OM-1 Mark II and the 150-600mm lens. I was close enough that it was not extended, but the 35mm equivalent was 300mm. I continue to be impressed with this camera!

What's Next?

We are headed to Wachula, FL, for a few weeks, and I am looking forward to seeing Myakka River State Park again. There is a hike to a gator pond that you have to get reservations for, probably so they can keep track of who doesn't come back! I will let you know if I get on the list!

Word-of-mouth is the best way for this community to grow, and I genuinely appreciate every share. Thanks for being part of this!
