My Favorite Moments of the Year!

Chronicles from the Road

Gratitude Series

Issue 121

November 28, 2025

Happy Friday, Reader!

This month has been all about reflecting on our experiences this year and sharing those I'm most grateful for.

Looking back at the places, people, and moments that filled my heart with gratitude highlighted just how incredible the journey has been.

If this is your first time here, welcome, and I look forward to sharing more of our adventures! In 2025, our travels took us from Florida up the coast to New York and over to Pennsylvania, then back west to Oklahoma, where we are enjoying some downtime with our families.

Here are a few of my favorites from life on the road.

Favorite Meet Up

We found ourselves in the right place at the right time in March, when we had the opportunity to meet our RV heroes, Marc and Tricia Leach of Keep Your Daydream. They were every bit as warm and friendly as they are in their YouTube videos that we watch every week!

Favorite Surprise Adventure

We were on a mission to check off all the lower 48 states, so we made a quick side trip to Rhode Island, which allowed me to add Greta Granit to my Troll Map! I first discovered these interesting wooden sculptures in Maine. They are a creation of Thomas Dambo and are located all over the globe. I think Greta was number 12 for me, and I already can't wait for the next potential Troll Hunt!

Favorite Local Attraction

I am a big fan of gators! I look forward to any time we are in an area they inhabit, especially Florida! We don't go to many touristy attractions, but we made an exception for Gatorland in Orlando, FL. The gator feedings were something to see!

Favorite Food Experience

My favorite food experience came at a cafe located inside an assisted living center. We always look for local diners when we are in search of breakfast, and this one led us to a unique location and a fun experience. And sharing it with great friends made it even better!

Favorite Memories

One of my favorite perks of the RV travel lifestyle is reconnecting with friends across the US. Some of my favorite friends live in the Virginia area, so I took a road trip to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond to hang out with these crazy ladies. I am thankful for my daily photo project that brought us all together online and in person!

Every mile, every memory, and every photo have been part of a journey I am endlessly thankful for. Here's to a fantastic year and unforgettable memories. Life doesn't wait for the right time or the perfect conditions. There will always be bumps in the road, and some of our best memories have come from unexpected places.

The road doesn't have to be mapped out to be worth traveling.

You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” — C.S. Lewis

Until next week!
