Double Dose of Gratitude!

Happy Friday, Reader!

The last couple of weeks have been a blur of travel back and forth between Michigan & Indiana to get the new RV, along with crazy-busy work! Thankfully, my protein coffee has kept me fueled and (mostly) energized each morning.

We still have so much to do to get things organized and put away so that I can get some photos and videos of our new tiny home on wheels. They are coming soon!

I am taking the time today to slow down and gather my thoughts. I have so much to be thankful for, and this week, you are getting a double dose of my favorite memories from 2025.

I am beyond grateful to have finally had the chance to see the beautiful colors of the sky with the Kansas version of the Northern Lights! A solar storm created the perfect conditions for some fantastic photos.

Gratitude: Coastal Corners

We did so many fun things as we traveled the East Coast this year, it is hard to pick my top 3, but if I have to, I would pick these:

Visiting the wild streets of NYC has been on my bucket list for many years, and capturing an iconic shot of the Manhattan Bridge from between the buildings was probably at the top!

Seeing the National Cemetery in Gettysburg was an unplanned surprise and became one of my favorite stops in Pennsylvania. It was surreal to stand on the same ground where Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address. The more I learn about President Lincoln, the more grateful I am to leaders like him and to what they did for our country.

Another Pennsylvania surprise was finding ourselves camping about a mile from the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire on opening weekend! We attended on day 2 of a 13-week run that begins in August and ends in late October. It's only open on the weekends, and an estimated 250,000 people will experience the cast of characters that make the event so much fun.

Grateful for wild places and the wildlife that makes my heart happy

In late 2024, Jody asked where I wanted to go in 2025, and, without hesitation, I said I wanted to spend time in Florida for birding season! Lucky for me that it coincides with snowbird season and the ideal time to be in Florida. Well, except for that little snowfall situation in Pensacola.

Besides the baby birds, the wild ponies had to be in my top three! They had such personalities, and I loved how protected they were in both Chincoteague and Assateague State Parks in Virginia.

I will be sharing these images over on Instagram (click the link in the header) so check them out and let me know what you are grateful for in your wild and/or urban adventures!

Until next week!
