It always takes me a hot minute to narrow down the images from a fantastic photo adventure, and Watkins Glen State Park ranks near the top of that list!
In this issue, I have some of my favorite shots from my iPhone from when we enjoyed the day at the park. They are a teaser for the blog post on Tuesday, which I think you will enjoy.
You can check the Blog page of my website here to get it as soon as it posts, or you can wait in anxious anticipation for me to share it next Friday!
Framed Moments - "Rainbow Falls"
My favorite find was the most iconic waterfall in Watkins Glen. How about that cool stone bridge? And the (even cooler) people who "posed" for me? This image was shot with my OM-1 Mark II using a .6-second long exposure courtesy of my Platypod Delta. I like the shorter "long" exposure times to show movement in the water.
The Scenic Side...Watkins Glen {200-400 words}
We left our campground early and stopped at Tioga Downs Casino & Resort for the night. This gave us a closer starting point to get to Watkins Glen State Park. We wanted to get there when they opened, hoping to beat the crowds. The ride over to the park was superb and colorful.
We had so much fun exploring the Gorge Trail at the park! It was hot but not too bad considering it was August. Upstate New York is stunning, and I highly recommend it if you haven't been.
The stone paths and bridges kept the "old world" feel throughout the park. I don't consider myself a huge Lord of the Rings fan, but I did catch myself looking around for elves and hobbits!
Walking behind a waterfall will always be one of my favorite things to do! And I wasn't alone in that joy!
We chose to hike from the upper parking lot, so we made our way down the stone steps at the beginning (you'll see those in the blog post) and then, somehow, also went down the steps at the end of the trail. I don't know how that happened, but we were grateful!
Ignore the crazy humidity-hair and the exhausted looks on our faces. It was a great day!
Until next week!
